Kids 'N Care Health Center, in partnership with the Duval County Health Department (DCHD), The Department of Children and Families (DCF), the University of Florida, Family Support Services (FSS) and Children's Medical Services (CMS), provide a home to all children in foster care in Duval County.

Kids 'N Care Health Center is a state-of-the-art facility that offers the highest quality clinical care to children in foster care from board-certified physicians specializing in pediatrics and adolescent health. We provide a constant medical home for their medical records.

Kids 'N Care provides:

  • A primary medical provider to children in foster care

  • Screenings within 72 hours

  • Comprehensive exams within 30 days

  • Follow-up assessment

  • Enhanced primary care

  • Health visits unique to children in foster care

  • Developmental and mental health screenings

Services:

Children's Health Care
Full Medical care services, including well and sick care, are offered to children in foster care. Doctors are on call 24 hours a day.

Dental Care
Full dental care services are provided to children in foster care. Dental services include cleanings, x-rays, examinations, sealants, fillings, root canals, gum treatment and minor oral surgery.

Immunizations
It is important that children receive proper vaccinations in order to control infectious diseases. Immunization services are offered to children in foster care.

Physical Exams
Children in foster care can receive physicals, hearing and vision screenings and immunization services.

Hospital Care
In the event that your child needs emergency services, urgent care and hospitalization for children in foster care are provided at Wolfson's Children's Hospital and at Shands Jacksonville.

Health Education
Nurses provide education to children in foster care and their caregivers in Nutrition and WIC, Healthy Start, Child Safety, Tobacco Education and Prevention, and Lead Poisoning.

Referral Services
Physicians make referrals for children in foster care on as needed basis. Referrals are made for Medical Health Services, Developmental Services and other specialty physician referrals.
